When you see a floral arrangement, are you ever jealous of how they are put together? Well there is no reason to spend all of the money trying to impress someone with an arrangement when you can make them at home by yourself. Now it is your turn to brag about your creativity at wedding and baby showers. By following a few simple steps you will be on your way to creating your own flower masterpiece.
-
Think about your vision.
What is your arrangement going to be for? Are you giving it as a gift, decorating your home, or creating arrangements for an event? Once you have your vision in mind, you will be able to shop for the supplies and tools
that you need. When choosing your flowers you will want to make sure that they complement each other. -
Find the right tools.
There can be a lot of different tools that go into making an arrangement. Of course, not all tools are necessary for every arrangement. This is why it can be important to know what you are making before you get your supplies. The tools can typically fall into two different categories.
- Supplies:Waterproof tape, waterproof clay, floral clay waterproof tape, pan melt glue pot, hot glue and glue sticks, floral stem tape, floral scissors, anchor pins, floral wires, and foam prongs.
- Containers:Vase, candle cups, floral foam, plastic foam, desert foam, oasis foam
-
Cut away excess foliage and stems.
Before you arrange the flowers you will want to cut them. When dealing with the stems it is important to cut the stems at an angle. This will allow the flowers to soak up the water and retain it better. Also, you will want to cut away any foliage that is in the way. This is mainly to prevent the flowers and stems from rooting.
-
Arrange.
Now that you have your flowers ready to go, you will begin arranging them. Whether it is in a vase or something else you will typically follow the same rules. If you are using a clear vase then you will want to make sure that you have visual appeal in the vase as well as throughout the flowers themselves.

Think Big Picture.
Now that you have made an arrangement, it is time to think about why you made it and if there is something that can come from it other than your enjoyment. What about turning your new found passion into a career. The jump could be scary for some but you can even devote time to just make them on the side and bring in a little extra cash. Think about all that praise that you get from your work. Wouldn’t you enjoy that all the time? You can always start small and work only in situations that make you comfortable. YOu have the talent, now go make it a reality!
